Lynette Wardle is principal harpist of the Richmond Symphony and the Albany Symphony. As a freelance musician she has performed with the Utah Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, American Symphony Orchestra, New Haven Symphony and the New York City Chamber Orchestra at Carnegie Hall.
She also performs regularly at Wicked, Finian”s Rainbow, and Ragtime on Broadway, and is the harpist for special occasions at the Carlyle Hotel. She has been a member of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular Orchestra since 2007. In 2006, Lynette went on the national tour of the Tony award winning musical Light in the Piazza.
She has a number of recordings, most notably her work in the flute, harp, viola trio Trilogy and a contemporary recording made with a NYC orchestra AREA 31, which was nominated for a Grammy. She can also be heard on many Albany Symphony recordings and several movie soundtracks.
Lynette has performed with many artists, such as Pavorotti, Josh Groban, Charlotte Church, Bjork, Jane Monheit, Olivia Newton John, Clay Aiken, Johnny Mathis, The Irish Tenors, Marvin Hamlisch, Edgar Meyer, and Joshua Bell. Her formal education was completed at the Manhattan School of Music with a Masters in Orchestral Performance in 1998, where she studied with Sarah Bullen, now the principal harpist of the Chicago Symphony.
